At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 12,801,300 shares in 1,203 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 317,596,510.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, June 2), today’s data shows a 39% decline in volume and a 67% decline in turnover. 

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.01 trillion.

In the aggregate, 41 NSE-listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 gainers and 14 losers. 

Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] led the gainers with ✅9.13% share price appreciation closing at KES 5.50 per share, followed by:

✅ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+8.64%)

✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+6.59%)

✅ILAM Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (+6.03%). 

On the losing side, Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻6.35% at KES 1.18 per share, followed by:

🔻Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] (-6.33%)

🔻Kapchorua Tea Company Plc [KAPC] (-5.76%) 

🔻I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] (-5.29%). 

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 7.26 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.95m)

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.18m) 

➖KenGen Plc [KGEN] (639,100)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.75 points to close at 129.41.

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅13.99 points to close at 1699.83

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅14.78 points to close at 3066.15

Bonds & Derivatives Performance on the NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity as compared to Monday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 1.79 billion transacted in 98 deals compared to the Kes 2.79 billion worth of bonds achieved in 87 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

The derivatives of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NEXT) had 29 single stock futures valued at Kes 431,260 transacted compared to the 6 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 114,700 concluded in the previous trading session.
