At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 36,398,800 shares in 858 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 994,785,709.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, December 9), today’s data shows 103% improvement in volume, 93% improvement in turnover, and 24% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.19 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 26 ✅gainers and 13 ?losers.

Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] led the gainers with ✅8.26% share price appreciation closing at KES 18.35 per share, followed by:

✅Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (+7.90%)
✅HF Group Plc [HFCK] (+7.14%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+3.45%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?7.95% closing at KES 2.20 per share, followed by:

? Jubilee Holdings Plc [JUB] (-5.26%)
?Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-4.76%)
?Unga Group Plc [UNGA] (-3.23%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 23.6 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (6.48m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (3.75m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.19m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?0.62 points to close at 145.97

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅7.18 points to close at 1782.06

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?9.53 points to close at 3280.47

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange had 11 single stocks futures contracts valued at Kes 298,150 transacted. This was a rise in decline turnover from the 4 contracts value dat Kes 130,000 transacted in the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 1.54 Billion achieved in 62 deals in today’s session as compared to the Kes 4.11 Billion achieved in 105 deals during the previous trading session.
