At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

NSE Market Report: Trading Volume falls 46% as Indices Decline from Previous Levels

A total of 17,217,700 shares in 1,329 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 359,440,698.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, June 10), today’s data shows 48% decline in volume, 50% decline in turnover and 4% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.17 trillion.

In the aggregate, 51 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 25 ✅gainers and 15 ?losers.

Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] led the gainers with ✅9.14% share price appreciation closing at KES 8.84 per share, followed by;

✅Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+9.09%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (+8.15%)
✅TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (+7.14%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?5.53% closing at KES 2.05 per share, followed by;

?Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] (-4.76%)
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-4.35%)
?Kenya Power & Lighting Company [KPLC] (-4.35%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.4 million traded shares, followed by;

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (2.58m),
➖Britiam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (2.27m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.78m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅ 1.74 points to close at 142.78

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅ 8.55 points to close at 1995.03

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅ 34.93 points to close at 3287.02

The Derivatives market of the NSE had five contracts valued at Kes 149,250 concluded on the market in today’s trading session up from three contracts valued at Kes 66,800 concluded in the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.17 Billion achieved in 94 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 2.20 Billion achieved in 149 deals recorded during the previous trading session.
