At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

NSE Market Report: Bourse Sees a 40% Drop In Trading Value

A total of 11,475,600 shares in 1,059 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 303,091,841.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, September 14), today’s data shows 111% improvement in volume, 272% improvement in turnover, and 14% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.12 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with ✅18 gainers and ?17 losers.

Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] led the gainers with ✅9.77% share price appreciation closing at KES 24.15 per share, followed by:

✅ Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (+8.84%)
✅Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] (+7.5%)
✅ Eaagads Plc [EGAD] (+6.67%).

On the losing side, Crown Paints Plc [CRWN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 4.89% at KES 41.85 per share, followed by:

? Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-4.44%)
? Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-4.41%)
? Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-3.16%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ ILAM Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (1.44m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.09m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (902,100)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.42 points to close at 141.04
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?1.64 points to close at 1877.80
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅1.49  points to close at 3260.83

.The derivatives market of the NSE had 2 contracts valued at kes 74,100 concluded in today’s trading session, this was lower as compared the 4 contract valued at Kes 121,000 transacted in the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in  activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 3.31 billion transacted in 74 deals in as compared to the Kes 6.43 billion achieved in 92 deals posted in Monday’s trading session
