At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 15,966,600 shares in 965 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 727,954,914.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, February 16), today’s data shows 4% improvement in volume, 41% improvement in turnover, but  5% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.49 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 15✅ gainers and 24? losers.

I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] led the gainers with ✅4.29% share price appreciation closing at KES 45.00 per share, followed by:

✅TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (+2.76%)
✅Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (+2.67%)
✅Sasini Plc [SASN](+1.45%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 8.64% at KES 2.01 per share, followed by:

?NewGold Exchange Traded Fund [GLD] (-6.08%)
?Eveready E.A  Plc [EVRD](-5.61%)
?Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (-4.44%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 7.7 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (3.17m)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP](1.17m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.12m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.56 to close at 165.04
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ? 4.52 points to close at 1874.67
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 5.87 points to close at 3624.62

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market recorded a decline during today’s trading session with 3 contracts valued at Kes 52,110 concluded as compared to the 2 contracts valued at Kes 75,150 traded during the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange has recorded an increase in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.45 billion traded in 68 deals as compared to the Kes 2.42 billion achieved in 205 deals concluded in the previous trading session.
