At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 6,113,100 shares in 706 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 179,039,794.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, October 16), today’s data shows 39% improvement in volume, 47% improvement in turnover, but 6% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 18✅ gainers and 20? losers.

Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] led the gainers with✅ 9.09% share price appreciation closing at KES 84.00 per share, followed by:

✅ Umeme Limited [UMME] (+8.02%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+7.14%)
✅ TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (+6.67%)

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 4.67% at KES 2.04 per share, followed by:

? Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] (-4.33%)
? Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-4%)
? Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-2.57%).

Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] recorded the highest volume of 2.9 million traded shares, followed by

➖ Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (2.05m)
➖Centum Investments Plc [CTUM] (176,300)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (138,300).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.05 to close at 139.70
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 1.29 points to close at 1812.42
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ? 2.59  points to close at 3210.31

There were no contracts concluded during today’s trading session  on the derivatives market of the NSE.

The bonds market posted quite a rise in turnover in today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 3.67 billion transacted in 32 deals against the 2.31 billion worth of bonds transacted in Friday’s trading session.
