At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 15,062,500 shares in 1,092 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 427,394,373.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, July 29), today’s data shows 89% improvement in volume, 73% improvement in turnover, and 18% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.0 trillion.

In the aggregate, 39 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 20 ✅gainers and 16 ?losers.

Trans Century Plc [TCL] led the gainers with ✅8.28% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.83 per share, followed by:

✅Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (+7.56%)
✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+6.79%)
✅Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+4.55%).

On the losing side, Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?6.39% closing at KES 16.85 per share, followed by:

?Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] (-5.95%)
?I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] (-5.62%)
?East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (-3.73%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 11.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (1.34m)
➖East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (437,500)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (364,800).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?1.25 points to close at 133.23

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?7.18 points to close at 1804.10

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?41.72 points to close at 3059.56

The derivatives market of the NSE had 5 contracts valued at Kes 141,500 concluded in today’s trading session. This was against the 4 contracts valued at Kes 114,000 concluded in previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a soar in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 8.73 Billion achieved in 114 deals in today’s session as compared to the Kes 5.29 Billion achieved in 112 deals during the previous trading session.
