At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

NSE Market Report: October 24, 2025: Bourse on Bullish Momentum, KenGen leads Gainers

A total of 13,222,000 shares in 1,538 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 289,692,004.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, July 1), today’s data shows 33% decline in volume, 40% decline in turnover, but 61% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.09 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 ✅ gainers and 25 ? losers.

Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] led the gainers with ✅ 7.91% share price appreciation closing at KES 3.41 per share, followed by:

✅Kenya Airways Plc [KQ](+6.39%),
✅Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (+4.67%)
✅Wpp ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+4.55%).

On the losing side, Eaagads Limited [EGAD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.09% closing at KES 9.00 per share, followed by;

?Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-8.43%),
?TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (-8.13%)
?Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] (-5.66%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.2 million traded shares, followed by;

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.41m),
➖Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (1.84m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.65m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅ 0.04 points to close at 137.77

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ?2.00 points to close at 1945.64

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index dropped ?19.50 points to close at 3196.17

The Derivatives Market had 2 contracts valued at Kes 64,050 transacted in today’s trading session. This was against the 4 contracts valued at Kes 112,600 concluded in the previous session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a moderate decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 2.04 Billion achieved in 127 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 2.35 Billion achieved in 119 deals recorded during the previous trading session.
