At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 8,926,900 shares in 681 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 250,375,947.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, October 19), today’s data shows 46% improvement in volume, 40% improvement in turnover, but 4% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 19✅ gainers and 12? losers.

Standard Group Plc [SGL] led the gainers with ✅9.94% share price appreciation closing at KES 19.90 per share, followed by:

✅Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+7.69%)
✅Carbacid Plc [CARB] (+5.71%)
✅ Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (+4.2%).

On the losing side, Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 6.19% closing at KES 0.91 per share, followed by:

? Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (-5.88%)
? Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Plc [SCBK] (-3.76%)
? Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (-3.38%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6.6 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (775,600)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (331,600)
➖Centum Investment company Plc [CTUM] (294,500).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.09 to close at 139.79
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 2.76 points to close at 1809.66
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ? 5.01 points to close at 3205.30

There were 2 contracts valued at kes 74,400 concluded during today’s trading session  on the derivatives market of the NSE.

The bonds market posted quite a decline in turnover in today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 2.83 billion transacted in 48 deals against the 3.67 billion worth of bonds transacted in Monday’s trading session.
