At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 23,809,500 shares in 1,053 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 607,486,349.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, September 21), today’s data shows 184% improvement in volume, 199% improvement in turnover, and 39% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with✅ 16 gainers and ?21 losers.

TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] led the gainers with✅ 6.73% share price appreciation closing at KES 16.65 per share, followed by:

✅ Umeme Limited [UMME] (+5.81%
✅Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (+5.56%)
✅ Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (+3.17%).

On the losing side, Kenya Orchards Plc[ORCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.8% closing at KES 11.05 per share, followed by:

?ILAM Fahari income REIT [FAHR] (-7.01%)
? Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-6.82%)
? Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-6.45%).

Safaricom Plc[SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 9.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Kengen Plc [KEGN]. (4.66m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY](2.42m)
➖Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KENRE] (1.82m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.23 points to close at 139.77
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 8.78 points to close at 1839.96
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅0.06 points to close at 3219.35

There were 6 contracts valued at kes 179,900 concluded in today’s trading session on the derivatives market of the NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange was moderately higher today, with bonds worth Kes 3.01 billion transacted in 73 deals in as compared to the Kes 2.11 billion achieved in 49 deals posted in the Monday’s trading session
