At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 65,174,300 shares in 1,341 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,136,027,313.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, June 23), today’s data shows 118% improvement in volume, 186% improvement in turnover, and 32% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 18 ✅gainers and 22 ?losers.

Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] led the gainers with ✅7.44% share price appreciation closing at KES 130.00 per share, followed by:

✅Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+7.32%)
✅HF Group Plc [HAFR] (+6.36%)
✅Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (+6.22%).

On the losing side, Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?5.41% closing at KES 2.10 per share, followed by:

?Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (-4.23%)
?Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (-3.33%)
?WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (-2.98%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 20.7 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] (17.41m)
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (12.03m)
➖Kengen Plc [KGEN] (4.01m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ?2.01 points to close at 138.45

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index dropped ?6.32 points to close at 1943.50

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index dropped ?27.73 points to close at 3241.78

The derivatives market had 12 contracts valued at Kes 407,805 concluded during today’s session. This was against the 5 contracts valued at Kes 146,850 concluded during the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 3.20 Billion achieved in 130 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 5.69 Billion achieved in 115 deals recorded during the previous trading session.
