At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 20,091,600 shares in 869 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 502,464,607.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, September 24), today’s data shows 55% decline in volume, 65% decline in turnover, and 6% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.11 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 21✅ gainers and 12? losers.

Crown Paints Plc[CRWN] led the gainers with✅ 9.28% share price appreciation closing at KES 46.50 per share, followed by:

✅ Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+4.76%)
✅Limuru Tea Plc [LIMT] (+3.9%)
✅ CIC Insurance Plc [CIC](+3.5%).

On the losing side, Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 9.09% at KES 0.60 per share, followed by:

? Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (-8.26%)
? East African Cables Plc [CABL](-5.56%)
? Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (-2.25%).

Safaricom Plc[SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 12 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.86m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.47m)
➖ Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (1.31m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.66 points to close at 140.37
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅ 15.62 points to close at 1847.63
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅20.59 points to close at 3242.38

The derivatives market of the NSE recorded an increase in activity today with 9 contracts valued at kes 290,250 as compared to 4 contracts valued at kes 126,000  concluded in the previous trading session .

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange was moderately high today, with bonds worth Kes 2.49 billion transacted in 79 deals in as compared to the Kes 1.69 billion achieved in 63 deals posted in the Thursday’s  trading session
