At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 11,794,500 shares in 764 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 422,970,555.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, October 23), today’s data shows 32% decline in volume, 31% decline in turnover, but 2% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 16✅ gainers and 18 ?losers.

Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD] led the gainers with✅ 5.43% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.97 per share, followed by:

✅ Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Plc [DTK] (+4.1%)

✅ Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (+3.73%)

✅ Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (+2.6%).

On the losing side, TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 8.25% at KES 14.45 per share, followed by:

? Liberty  Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-7.18%)

? I&M Holdings Plc [IMH] (-2.22%)

? East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (-2.07%).

KCB Group Plc [KCB] recorded the highest volume of 4.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (2.02m)

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.96m)

➖ Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (666,900).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined? 1.41 to close at 139.80

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 0.09 points to close at 1799.38

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ? 27.41 points to close at 3189.25

There was a decline on the derivatives market of the NSE.during today’s trading session with  2 contracts valued at kes 61,500 concluded during today’s trading session as compared to the 6 contracts valued at kes 205,050 during the previous trading session.

The bonds market posted a slight decline in turnover in today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 3.03 billion transacted in 84 deals against the 3.04 billion worth of bonds transacted in Friday’s trading session.
