A total of 22,835,200 shares in 955 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 614,707,101.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, January 28), today’s data shows 14% improvement in volume, 77% improvement in turnover, and 11% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.34 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 13✅ gainers and 17? losers.

Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] led the gainers with✅ 3.90% share price appreciation closing at KES 2.40 per share, followed by:

✅Carbacid Plc[CARB] (+2.13%)
✅Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (+1.97%)
✅ Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Plc [DTK]  (+1.33%).

On the losing side, Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 7.99% at KES 42.05 per share, followed by:

? Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (-5.88%)
? Umeme Limited [UMME] (-5.40%)
? Home Afrika Plc [HAFR](-5.26%).

Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] recorded the highest volume of 7.20 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (6.28m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (3.84m)
➖ Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (3.60m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined? 0.97 points to close at 155.59
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 6.83 points to close at 1881.91
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 11.13 points to close at 3434.52

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

There derivatives market of the NSE recorded a decline in activity during today’s trading session with 28 contracts valued at kes 2.99 milion against the 25 contracts valued at kes 3.07 million traded during the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange has recorded a slight decline  in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 6.50 billion traded in 94 deals as compared to the Kes 7.17 billion achieved in 141 deals in the previous trading session.
