At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.18 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed securities participated in trading, ending with 20 ✅gainers and 15 ?losers.

Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] led the gainers with ✅9.72% share price appreciation closing at KES 11.85 per share, followed by:

✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+8.91%)
✅Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] (+5.94%)
✅Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (+5.88%).

On the losing side, East African Portland Cement Company [PORT] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.33% closing at KES 11.00 per share, followed by:

?TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (-6.69%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-5.00%)
?Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-4.53%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 23.7 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (15.51m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (6.5m)
➖Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (1.52m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅1.90 points to close at 145.20

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅1.89 points to close at 1759.93

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅21.35 points to close at 3264.15

There were no contracts concluded during today’s trading session on the derivatives market of the NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market at the NSE recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.29 billion transacted in 47 deals on the Fixed income segment as compared to the Kes 3.11 billion worth of bonds transacted during the previous trading session
