At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 4,027,600 shares in 640 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 86,204,666.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, December 30), today’s data shows 43% decline in volume, 53% decline in turnover, and 5% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.29 trillion.

In the aggregate, 43 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 25 ✅gainers and 12 ?losers.

Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] led the gainers with ✅10.00% share price appreciation closing at KES 2.20 per share, followed by:

✅NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (+7.65%)
✅Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+7.14%)
✅Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (+6.8%).

On the losing side, Uchumi Supermarket Plc [UCHM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?6.67% at KES 0.28 per share, followed by:

?BAT Kenya Plc [BAT] (-5.81%)
?Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (-5.38%)
?TPS Eastern Africa Serena Plc [TPSE] (-5.04%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 1.3 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (880,700)
➖Uchumi Supermarket Plc [UCHM] (528,800)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (227,600).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅1.14 points to close at 152.11

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅15.33 points to close at 1869.39

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅29.47 points to close at 3415.24

There were no contracts concluded during today’s trading session on the derivatives market.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted an decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 478.5 million traded in 31 deals during Thursday’s trading session as compared to the Kes 1.31 Billion achieved in 57 deals during the previous trading session.
