At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 7,085,400 shares in 674 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 185,078,745.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, December 29), today’s data shows 32% improvement in volume, 114% improvement in turnover, but 5% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.27 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 23 ✅gainers and 12 ?losers.

Kapchorua Tea Company Plc [KAPC] led the gainers with ✅9.86% share price appreciation closing at KES 78.00 per share, followed by:

✅Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (+9.74%)
✅BOC Kenya Plc [BOC] (+9.57%)
✅Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (+7.69%).

On the losing side, Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?5.11% at KES 1.30 per share, followed by:

?Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-2.85%)
?Trans Century Plc [TCL] (-2.68%)
?East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-2.24%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kengen Plc [KEGN] (747,300)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (580,200).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.37 points to close at 150.97

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅14.23 points to close at 1853.06

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅22.12 points to close at 3385.77

There were no contracts concluded during today’s trading session on the derivatives market.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted an exponential rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 1.31 billion traded in 57 deals during Tuesday’s session as compared to the Kes 1.99 Billion achieved in 63 deals during the previous trading session.
