At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 5,563,400 shares in 422 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 248,726,438.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, December 24), today’s data shows 7% improvement in volume, 43% improvement in turnover, but 20% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.51 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 23 ✅gainers and 11 ?losers.

Diamond Trust Bank Kenya [DTK] led the gainers with ✅9.17% share price appreciation closing at KES 119.00 per share, followed by:

✅Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (+8.7%)
✅Car & General Plc [CGEN] (+8.33%)
✅Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+6.48%).

On the losing side, Eaagads Limited [EGAD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?-8.94% closing at KES 11.20 per share, followed by:

?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-3.57%)
?Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (-2.09%)
?Sasini Plc [SASN] (-1.67%).

KCB Group Plc [KCB] recorded the highest volume of 1.5 million traded shares, followed by:

➖NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (1.37m)
➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (938,900)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (747,100).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ?0.25 points to close at 165.41

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅34.01 points to close at 2646.14

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅6.34 points to close at 4063.15

The Derivatives Market had no activity in today’s trading session.

The secondary Bond market at the NSE had 49 deals worth Kes 281.26 Million, indicating a decline in activity on the Fixed income segment as compared to Tuesday’s 76 deals valued at Kes 1.62 Billion
