At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 5,843,800 shares in 880 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 147,204,329.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, August 3), today’s data shows a 36% decline in volume, a 60% decline in turnover, and a 25% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.66 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 21 ✅gainers and 17 ?losers.

Unga Group Plc [UNGA] led the gainers with ✅9.54% share price appreciation closing at KES 31.00 per share, followed by:

✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+5.22%)
✅Limuru Tea Company Plc [LIMT] (+5.00%)
✅TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (+3.62%).

On the losing side, Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 3.71% at KES 3.37 per share, followed by:

?Nairobi Securities Exchange [NSE] (-3.58%)
?Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-2.19%)
?HF Group Plc [HFCK] (-2.14%).

Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] recorded the highest volume of 2.15 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (752,200)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company [KPLC] (752,100)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (331,000).

➡️The benchmark All-Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.21 points to close at 175.37
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅1.58 points to close at 1973.58
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅2.41 points to close at 3864.65

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in turnover during Monday’s trading session, with 26 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 820,005 concluded, compared to the 26 contracts valued at Kes 820,005 concluded on the previous session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 4.72 billion transacted in 132 deals as compared to the Kes 1.14 billion worth of bonds achieved in  87 deals in the preceding session
