At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 40,499,400 shares in 975 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,126,562,054.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, February 10), today’s data shows 687% improvement in volume, 482% improvement in turnover, and 35% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.54 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 13 ✅gainers and 21 ?losers.

Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] led the gainers with ✅9.81% share price appreciation closing at KES 5.82 per share, followed by:

✅Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (+5.17%)
✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (+4.46%)
✅Umeme Limited [UMME] (+4.17%).

On the losing side, Eveready Plc [EVRD] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.18% closing at KES 1.01 per share, followed by:

?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-7.41%)
?Sasini Plc [SASN] (-6.69%)
?Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-5.30%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 12.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA](10.81m)
➖Kengen Plc [KEGN] (7.4m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (3.88m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] dropped ? 0.75 points to close at 166.96

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅5.44 points to close at 2599.44

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index dropped ?20.32 points to close at 4084.68

The Derivatives Market  had three Equity contracts worth Kes.153,000 expiring in 19th March 2020 was concluded at a price of Kes.51.08 in traded in today’s session

The secondary Bond market at the NSE had 112 deals worth Kes 3.54 Billion, a decline in value and deals on the Fixed income segment as compared to Monday’s 52 deals valued at Kes 946.18 Million.
