At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 20,226,900 shares in 960 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 718,743,396.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, December 7), today’s data shows a 40% decline in volume, a 44% decline in turnover, and an 18% decline in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.41 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 23 gainers and 12 losers.

Jubilee Holdings Plc [JUB] led the gainers with 9.8% share price appreciation closing at KES 336.00 per share, followed by:

✅BK Group Plc [BKG] (+8.44%)
✅Trans Century Plc [TCL] (+7.2%)
✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+6.07%).

On the losing side, Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻10.00% at KES 2.70 per share, followed by:

🔻Standard Group Plc [SGL] (-6.23%)
🔻Centum Investment Company Plc [CTUM] (-4.03%)
🔻Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-3.31%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 10.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (4.62m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.97m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.18m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 1.43 to close at 158.96
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅8.13 points to close at 1830.85
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅51.20 points to close at 3529.61

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange was higher compared to Tuesday’s trading, with bonds valued at Kes 3.05 billion transacted in 40 deals compared to the Kes 2.33 billion worth of bonds achieved in 55 deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with 2 single stock features valued at Kes 57,000 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 56 single stock features valued at Kes  2.13 million traded during Tuesday’s trading session.
