As market close on 23rd October 2025 at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), manufacturing firm Afri Mega Agricorp Plc was the top gainer closing with a share price of KES 70.00, gaining 7.7% from the previous trading session. Investment company Olympia Capital Holdings was the second top gainer closing with a share price of KES 7.48, up 6.9%.
On the other hand, Kapchorua Tea was the top loser, closing the trading session at KES 259.00, a decline of 10.00% compared to the previous trading session. Media firm Standard Group was the second top loser closing with a share price of KES 5.76 which was a decline of 6.5%.
NSE Indices Performance
The overall market activity registered an upward trajectory that was evidenced by 0.2% gain on Nairobi All Share Index (NASI) which closed at 178.80 points. This performance was mainly as a result of gains in large cap stocks like East African Breweries, Safaricom Plc and Absa Bank which gained by 2.1%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively.
NSE-10, NSE-20 and NSE-25 closed at 1,794.08 points, 3,032.63 points and 4,780.64 points, respectively, which was an uptrend from the previous trading session reflecting a growth of 0.6%, 0.7% and 0.1%, respectively. Amid all this, the days trading activity went down from KES 865.23 million to KES 441.5 million reflecting a 49% plunge. This was attributed by losses in stock such as NCBA Group and Kenya Power that lost 4.7% and 1.8%, respectively.
NSE Volume Traded and Turnover
Safaricom Plc was the most traded counter with a turnover closing at KES 236.71 million, followed by East African Breweries which closed with a turnover of KES 37.76 million. 16.05 million shares were traded at the exchange, a decline of 8% as compared to the previous trading session. The secondary bond turnover value dropped to KES 14.88 billion which translated to a decrease of 28.5%.
