At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 27,054,900 shares in 1,408 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 620,170,370.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, July 13), today’s data shows 51% improvement in volume, 35% improvement in turnover, and 45% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.97 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 24 ✅gainers and 13 ?losers.

TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] led the gainers with ✅9.92% share price appreciation closing at KES 13.85 per share, followed by;

✅Trans Century Plc [TCL] (+9.8%),
✅Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation Ltd [KNRE](+5.96%)
✅East African Cables Plc [CABL](+5.53%).

On the losing side, Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.33% to close at KES 6.60 per share, followed by;

?Centum Investment Company [CTUM] (-4.35%),
?Express Kenya Plc [XPRS](-3.02%)
?Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (-2.62%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 19.2 million traded shares, followed by;

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (3.3m),
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (1.38m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (662,200).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ? 1.09 points to close at 131.54

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?7.16 points to close at 1893.65

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?5.35 points to close at 3097.15

The Derivatives markets of the Nairobi Securities Exchange had 3 contracts worth Kes 99,000 compared to one contract valued at Kes 27,500 in the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded an increase in activity with bonds worth Kes 2.17 Billion achieved in 59 deals on the market as compared to the Kes 1.17 Billion achieved in 44 deals during the previous trading session.
