At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 25,816,600 shares in 1,001 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 685,810,096.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, September 22), today’s data shows 8% improvement in volume, 13% improvement in turnover, but 5% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with✅ 16 gainers and? 18 losers.

Carbacid Plc[CARB] led the gainers with✅ 4.21% share price appreciation closing at KES 8.42 per share, followed by:

✅ Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (+3.41%)
✅Williamson Tea Kenya Plc [WTK] (+2.56%)
✅ Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+2.44%).

On the losing side, Crown Paints Plc[CRWN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 10% at KES 44.10 per share, followed by:

? Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-3.89%)
? East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-3.41%)
? Sasini Plc [SASN] (-2.31%).

Safaricom Plc[SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 13.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.69m)
➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (2.07m)
➖ Kengen Plc [KEGN](1.73m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined? 0.14points to close at 139.63
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 0.72 points to close at 1840.68
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 1.76 points to close at 3217.59

There were no contracts  concluded in today’s trading session on the derivatives market of the NSE.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange was slightly lower today, with bonds worth Kes 2.90 billion transacted in 53 deals in as compared to the Kes 3.01 billion achieved in 73 deals posted in the Tuesday’s trading session
