At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 23,876,400 shares in 994 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 769,843,657.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, February 1), today’s data shows 32% improvement in volume, 44% improvement in turnover, and 10% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.33 trillion.

In the aggregate, 43 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 20✅ gainers and 15 ?losers.

Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] led the gainers with 9.09% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 2.40 per share, followed by:

✅Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+8.33%)
✅Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD] (+7.77%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (+5.47%)

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc [SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 7.32% at KES 19.00 per share, followed by:

?Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (-6.75%)
?Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (-4.35%)
?Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-3.89%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 10.40 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (5.80m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (3.25m)
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (2.50m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained✅1.06 points to close at 154.84
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 0.58 points to close at 1874.37
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅17.84 points to close at 3429.89

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

There derivatives market of the NSE recorded a rise in today’s trading session with 24 contracts valued at kes 424,100 concluded against the 9 contracts valued at kes 139,500 traded during the Previous trading session.

The secondary bond market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange has recorded a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 4.34 billion traded in 124 deals as compared to the Kes 5.91 billion achieved in 122 deals in the previous trading session.
