A total of 33,717,000 shares in 1,261 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,060,895,182.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, April 20), today’s data shows 117% improvement in volume, 120% improvement in turnover, and 19% improvement in deals.

The current Nairobi Securities Exchange market capitalization is KES 2.51 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17✅ gainers and 22? losers.

Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] led the gainers with✅ 13.4% share price appreciation closing at KES 43.15 per share, followed by:

✅Carbacid Plc [CARB] (+8.26%)
✅ Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] (+8.05%)
✅ Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+4.82%).

On the losing side, Umeme Limited ]UMME] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 7.33% at KES 6.32 per share, followed by:

? NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] (-6.55%)
? Sasini Plc [SASN] (-5.75%)
? Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-5%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 9.4 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KenGen Plc [KEGN] (6.53m)
➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (6.29m)
➖ KCB Group Plc[KCB] (4.47m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅1.36 points to close at 166.18
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 4.08 points to close at 1878.02
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅10.24 points to close at 3643.24

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity during Today’s trading session, with 40 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 1.50 million concluded, compared to the 57 SSF contracts valued at Kes 2.50 million concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.28 billion transacted in 120 deals as compared to the Kes 3.70 billion worth of bonds achieved in 102 deals in the preceding session.
