Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, June 10), today’s data shows 55% decline in volume, 43% decline in turnover, but 4% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.62 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 16✅ gainers and 20? losers.

E.A Portland Plc [PORT] led the gainers with 9.84% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 8.04 per share, followed by:

✅TransCentury Plc [TCL] (+9.09%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+8.7%)
✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+7.57%).

On the losing side, Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 6.57% at ?KES 3.27 per share, followed by:

?Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (-6.06%)
?Umeme Limited [UMME] (-5.33%)
?TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (-4.41%)

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 20.2 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (3.43m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (2.65m)
➖Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (1.64m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined? 0.15 points to close at 172.33
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ? 4.06 points to close at 1911.92
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?4.96 points to close at 3745.10

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during Today’s trading session, with 13 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 204,375 concluded, compared to the 42 SSF contracts valued at Kes 851,300 concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 2.01  billion transacted in 77 deals as compared to the Kes 3.09 billion worth of bonds achieved in 63 deals in the preceding session.
