NSE Market Report: AMAC Soars to Lead Gainers as Uchumi Plunges 5.4%

On 30th October 2025, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) closed trading with 15,828,612 shares traded, a decline of 32.7% relative to the previous trading session. The aggregate market turnover amounted to KES 285.2 million, half of what was realized in the prior trading session on account of a general decline in the volume of shares traded. Total equity deals were 4,242, up a marginal 2.1%, while the market capitalization of equities at the bourse closed shy of KES 3 trillion at KES 2.9 trillion representing a gain of 1.7%. In terms of market breadth at the Exchange, 35 counters recorded gains, 16 counters witnessed price losses, while 4 counters remained unchanged from the previous trading session.

Manufacturing firm Africa Mega Agricorp led gainers, recording share price appreciation of 20.09% to close at KES 70.25 on 57 shares traded, and the counter is up by 38% over the last 6 months. Express Kenya was the second top gainer in the session, registering gains of 8..53% to close at KES 7.38, followed closely by Crown Paints which closed at KES 54.00 to represent an appreciation of 7.46% from the previous trading session.

Across to the losing counters, commercial firm Uchumi Supermarkets led losers, shedding 5.41% to close at KES 0.35. This was followed by Energy utiity firm Umeme Limited which recorded a 1.75% decline in share price, just like WPP ScanGroup, to close trading at KES 7.88 and KES 2.80, respectively.

Kenya RE leads NSE in Volumes as Indices Gain

Reinsurer Kenya RE recorded the largest volume of shares traded at 4.7 million, yielding a total turnover of KES 14.2 million. Telecommunications firm Safaricom PLC recorded the second highest volume of shares traded at 2.5 million, and third in this ranking was Energy firm KenGen Co. Plc at 1.95 million shares.

Kenya Re-insurance Corporation recorded the highest volume of shares traded on 30th October 2025 at the NSE.

Across indices, the Nairobi All Share Index appreciated by 0.95% to 184.97 points, while the NSE 10 Index edged higher by 1.57% to close at 1,877.52 points. The NSE 20 and NSE 25 indices also recorded gains, appreciating by 1.14% and 1.30% to close at 3,090.70 and 4,900.89 points, respectively.
