Oil prices dipped in the morning of Asian trading hours, with international benchmark Brent crude futures down 0.35% to $43.19 per barrel. U.S. crude futures also shed about 0.2% to $41.21 per barrel.

The renminbi declined following the escalation in U.S.-Beijing tensions, losing 0.4% against the greenback and closing at 7.018 for the week.
