Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, April 30), today’s data shows 58% decline in volume, 60% decline in turnover, and 11% decline in deals.

The current Nairobi Securities Exchange market capitalization is KES 2.56 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 19✅ gainers and 22 ?losers.

BOC Gases Kenya Plc [BOC] led the gainers with ✅9.39% share price appreciation closing at KES 67.00 per share, followed by:

✅ East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+9.37%)
✅ Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM](+4%)
✅ ILAM Fahari IREIT [FAHR] (+3.72%).

On the losing side, TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.9% at KES 14.85 per share, followed by:

?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-7.32%)
?Nairobi Business Ventures[NBV] (-6.87%)
?Trans Century Plc [TCL] (-6.72%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.3 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Equity Group Holdings [EQTY] (485,900)
➖ Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] (356,700)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (271,800)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI]gained✅0.46 points to close at 169.61
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined?8.33  points to close at 1858.26
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 11.52 points to close at 3686.02

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with 37 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 1.67 million concluded, compared to the 36 SSF contracts valued at Kes 1.43 million concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 4.61 billion transacted in 95 deals as compared to the Kes 3.00 billion worth of bonds achieved in 86 deals in the preceding session.
