A total of 12,024,900 shares in 942 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 365,656,171.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, April 14), today’s data shows 25% decline in volume, 27% decline in turnover, but 2% improvement in deals.

The current Nairobi Securities Exchange market capitalization is KES 2.48 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 26 ✅gainers and 12? losers.

BOC Gases Kenya Plc [BOC] led the gainers with✅ 8.94% share price appreciation closing at KES 67.00 per share, followed by:

✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+8.54%)
✅Sasini Plc [SASN] (+8.38%)
✅Kapchorua Plc [KAPC] (+7.88%).

On the losing side, Car & General Plc [CGEN] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?10% at KES 21.60 per share, followed by:

?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-4.55%)
?Carbacid Plc [CARB] (-3.38%)
?Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT](-2.89%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 7.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.23m)
➖Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (500,000)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (467,500)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 2.94 points to close at 164.32
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 6.31 points to close at 1873.46
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅43.09 points to close at 3620.10

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a notable rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with 34 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 1.16 million concluded, compared to the 8 SSF contracts valued at Kes 293,635 concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.82 billion transacted in 124 deals as compared to the Kes 8.41 billion worth of bonds achieved in 144 deals in the preceding session.
