At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

A total of 13,190,600 shares in 1,051 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 472,964,050.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, May 17), today’s data shows 57% decline in volume and 57% decline in turnover.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.47 trillion.

In the aggregate, 49 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 17 ✅ gainers and 26 ?losers.

Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] led the gainers with 9.87% share price appreciation closing at KES 8.24 per share, followed by;

✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+8%),
✅BOC Kenya Plc [BOC] (+3.88%)
✅Kapchorua Tea Company Plc [KAPC] (+1.88%).

On the losing side, HF Group Plc [HFCK] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 8.33% at KES 3.63 per share, followed by:

?Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc [NSE] (-6.32%),
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-4.55%)
?Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] (-3.54%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 7.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.44m),
➖Equity Group Holdings [EQTY] (1.13m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (683,800).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined?1.82 points to close at 162.62
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined? 16.62  points to close at 1842.47
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 27.56 points to close at 3534.82

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in volumes traded during today’s trading session, with 37 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 1.76 million concluded, compared to the 53 SSF contracts valued at Kes 1.6 million concluded during the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decrease in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 4.49 billion transacted in 87 deals as compared to the Kes 6.55  billion worth of bonds achieved in 87 deals in the preceding session.
