Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, April 27), today’s data shows 15% decline in volume, 3% decline in turnover, and 14% decline in deals.

The current Nairobi Securities Exchange market capitalization is KES 2.53 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 24✅ gainers and 16? losers.

Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] led the gainers with 9.21% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 83.00 per share, followed by:

✅ Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+5.26%)
✅ CIC Insurance Plc [CIC](+4.19%)
✅ Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM](+4.17%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 9.5% at KES 2.00 per share, followed by:

?TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] (-7.74%)
?Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-7.52%)
?Eveready E.A Plc [EVRD](-6.48%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 11 million traded shares, followed by:

➖WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (1.23m)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP](797,600)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (348,900)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅1.62 points to close at 168.04
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 8.50 points to close at 1876.88
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅27.03 points to close at 3656.78

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during Today’s trading session, with 77 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 3.05 million concluded, compared to the 50 SSF contracts valued at Kes 1.96 million concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 3.34 billion transacted in 105 deals as compared to the Kes 4.24 billion worth of bonds achieved in 106 deals in the preceding session.
