A total of 16,397,500 shares in 1,153 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 428,421,114.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, June 28), today’s data shows 12% decline in volume, 32% decline in turnover, but 12% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.61 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 16✅ gainers and 21? losers.

TransCentury Plc [TCL] led the gainers with✅ 5.26% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.40 per share, followed by:

✅ Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+5.22%)
✅ Jubilee Holdings Plc [JUB] (+3.35%)
✅ Unga Group Plc [UNGA] (+2.21%).

On the losing side, BOC Gases Kenya Plc [BOC] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?5.75% at KES 61.50 per share, followed by:

?Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (-3.7%)
?Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] (-3.57%)
?Eveready E. A Plc [EVRD](-3.03%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 5.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Centum Investment Plc [CTUM] (3.03m)
➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC](2.49m)
➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY](1.55m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained✅ 0.26 points to close at 172.09
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅0.02 points to close at 1918.69
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 2.10 points to close at 3762.02

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a drop in activity during Today’s trading session, with 29 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 759,200 concluded, compared to the 35 contracts valued at Kes 934,690  concluded on the previous session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a rise in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 6.43  billion transacted in 125 deals as compared to the Kes 3.74 billion worth of bonds achieved in 46 deals in the preceding session.
