At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 8,333,000 shares in 944 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 244,223,017.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, October 28), today’s data shows a 5% improvement in volume, a 43% decline in turnover, but a 21% improvement in deals.

The current market capitalization of the Nairobi Securities Exchange is KES 2.7 trillion.

In the aggregate, 49 NSE equities participated in trading, ending with 23 gainers and 16 losers.

BK Group Plc [BKG] led the gainers with ✅9.43% share price appreciation closing at KES 29.00 per share, followed by:

✅Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+6.67%)
✅Trans Century Plc [TCL] (+6.3%)
✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+5.26%).

On the losing side, Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻4.17% at KES 20.70 per share, followed by:

🔻Eaagads Plc [EGAD] (-3.61%)
🔻Nairobi Business Ventures Plc [NBV] (-3.45%)
🔻East African Cables Plc [CABL] (-3.03%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4.17 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (1.8m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (582,900)
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (340,000).

➡️The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.11 points to close at 177.96

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅1.03 points to close at 1961.33

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅2.14 points to close at 3851.67

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE.

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded near flat levels in activity with 11 single stock features valued at Kes 369,065 traded during today’s trading session compared to the 11 single stock features valued at Kes 382,125 traded during the previous trading session.

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a decline in turnover during Today’s trading session, with bonds valued at Kes 3.00 billion transacted in 148 deals compared to the Kes 144 billion worth of bonds achieved in 154  deals traded at the close of the previous trading session.
