A total of 29,487,800 shares in 1,269 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,169,791,538.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, March 29), today’s data shows 76% improvement in volume, 79% improvement in turnover, and 4% improvement in deals.

The current Nairobi Securities Exchange market capitalization is KES 2.43 trillion.

In the aggregate, 48 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 18✅ gainers and 23? losers.

NCBA Group Plc [NCBA] led the gainers with 5.24% share price appreciation closing at✅ KES 25.10 per share, followed by:

✅Liberty Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+4.94%)
✅Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] (+4.09%)
✅ILAM Fahari IREIT [FAHR] (+3.8%).

On the losing side, Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 10% at? KES 20.25 per share, followed by;

? Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM](-10%)
?Eveready E.A  Plc [EVRD](-7.27%)
? Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-6.52%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 16.9 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (4.84m)
➖East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (1.76m)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya [COOP] (1.14m)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?0.31 points to close at 160.97
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ? 6.50 points to close at 1846.76
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅12.73 points to close at 3531.67

Bonds & Derivatives on NSE

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded an increase in activity in today’s trading session, with 15 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 821,550 concluded, compared to the 17 SSF contracts valued at Kes 465,250 concluded on the previous session

Trading on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity during today’s trading session with bonds worth Kes 4.57 billion transacted in 84 deals as compared to the Kes 3.82 billion worth of bonds achieved in 91 deals in the preceding session
