The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has announced the changes in their leadership board following their 67th Annual General Meeting held virtually on 3rd June 2021.
Donald Wangunyu was appointed as the new Non-Executive Director representing Trading Participants. Donald Wangunyu comes in to replace Bob Karina, who has retired from the board.
Donald Wangunyu has over 20 years of experience in finance and technology from both Kenya and the USA. Currently, he sits on the Boards of Standard Investment Bank, the Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks and the East Africa Forum for Alternative Investments. Donald Wangunyu is also the Founder and CEO of the Robo-Advisor, FourFron Management.
The NSE has also announced Stephen Chege as the new Non-Executive Director representing Listed Companies following the retirement of Mrs Nasim Devji.
Stephen Chege has over 20 years of experience in policy, legal and regulatory affairs and Environmental, Social and Governance matter, primarily within the telecommunications and ICT industry. He is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Safaricom Plc, where his role entails safeguarding and growing Safaricom’s reputation, Government and stakeholder engagement, shaping the policy, legal and regulatory environment and overseeing the growth of Safaricom’s sustainability agenda.
The board was pleased to welcome the new members and said they were looking forward to working with them on the continued growth of the exchange.
NSE Reappoints Kiprono Kittony
Additionally, the Board of Directors of NSE Plc resolved in accordance with the Articles of Association of the Company, to re-appoint Mr Kiprono Kittony as the Chairman of the Board and to appoint Mr Paul Mwai as the Vice-Chairman of the Board.
