At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 13,227,900 shares in 718 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 435,321,318.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, October 30), today’s data shows 1% improvement in volume, 12% decline in turnover, and 14% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.12 trillion.

In the aggregate, 39 NSE listed securities participated in trading, ending with 13 ✅gainers and 21 ?losers.

Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] led the gainers with ✅8.11% share price appreciation closing at KES 26.00 per share, followed by:

✅Car and General (Kenya) Plc [CGEN] (+5.26%)
✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+3.57%)
✅Carbacid Investments Plc [CARB] (+2.35%).

On the losing side, East African Cables Plc [CABL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 6.29% closing at KES 1.49 per share, followed by:

?Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (-5.00%)
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-4.65%)
?Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (-2.98%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 7.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (1.78m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.09m)
➖East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (516,700).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅0.72 points to close at 140.76

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?19.96 points to close at 1763.72

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅0.48 points to close at 3171.35

The Derivatives Market had 1 Safaricom single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 31,050 concluded during today’s trading session.

The secondary Bond market at the NSE recorded a moderate decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.67 billion transacted in 50 deals on the Fixed income segment as compared to the 1.88 billion worth of bonds transacted during Friday’s trading session.
