At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 13,043,300 shares in 839 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 497,116,131.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, October 29), today’s data shows 16% improvement in volume, 96% improvement in turnover, and 19% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 43 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 13 ✅gainers and 24 ?losers.

Standard Group Plc [SGL] led the gainers with ✅5.42% share price appreciation closing at KES 25.30 per share, followed by:

✅Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+3.70%)
✅CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (+3.69%)
✅Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (+3.33%).

On the losing side, Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?4.9% closing at KES 7.38 per share, followed by:

?Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (-4.87%)
?Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (-4.76%)
?HF Group Plc [HFCK] (-4.60%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6.7 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (1.35m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.04m).

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined? 8.06 points to close at 3170.87

There were no  contracts  concluded during today’s trading session on  derivatives market of the NSE.

The bonds market posted a decrease in turnover during today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 1.88  billion transacted in 90 deals as compared to the 2.87 billion worth of bonds transacted 64 deals in Thursday’s trading session.
