At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 11,275,800 shares in 704 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 253,701,030.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, October 28), today’s data shows 2% decline in volume, 7% decline in turnover, but 10% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 47 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 16 ✅gainers and 18 ?losers.

Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] led the gainers with ✅5.49% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.96 per share, followed by:

✅Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (+4.00%)
✅Sasini Plc [SASN] (+3.16%)
✅Standard Chartered Bank Kenya [SCBK] (+2.91%).

On the losing side, Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.81% closing at KES 3.00 per share, followed by:

?Standard Group Plc [SGL] (-5.14%)
?BOC Kenya Plc [BOC] (-4.24%)
?ILAM Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (-3.17%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 4.6 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kengen Plc [KEGN] (3.31m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.54m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (934,000).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?0.24 to close at 139.64
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅1.96 points to close at 1799.77
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?4.82 points to close at 3178.93

There were 5  contracts valued at kes 177,500 contracts concluded during today’s trading session on  derivatives market of the NSE.

The bonds market posted an increase in turnover during today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 2.87  billion transacted in 7deals as compared to the 1.77 billion worth of bonds transacted 64 deals in the previous trading session.
