At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

A total of 17,269,000 shares in 1,138 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 583,239,001.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, May 4), today’s data shows 38% decline in volume, 36% decline in turnover, and 2% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.21 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 27 ✅gainers and 11 ?losers.

Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] led the gainers with ✅9.73% share price appreciation closing at KES 101.50 per share, followed by:

✅WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (+8.47%)
✅Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (+8.33%)
✅Uchumi Supermarket Plc [UCHM] (+7.69%).

On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?7.86% closing at KES 2.11 per share, followed by:

?Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (-6.67%)
?Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (-6.54%)
?Trans Century Plc [TCL] (-5.56%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 8.2 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (2.02m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.87m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.09m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅2.27 points to close at 145.69

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅ 30.91 points to close at 2021.55

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅ 72.76 points to close at 3446.45

The Derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange had three single stock contracts valued at Kes 98,000 concluded at the end of today’s trading session, this was the first contract on the exchange this week.

The secondary Bond market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 3.25 Billion trading in 155 deals, as compared to yesterday’s turnover of Kes 1.99 Billion which was achieved in 93 deals.
