At the end of the last weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE),

A total of 10,359,700 shares in 777 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 211,205,244.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Thursday, August 6), today’s data shows 5% improvement in volume but 29% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.96 trillion.

In the aggregate, 44 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 15 ✅ gainers and 22 ?losers.

TPS Eastern Africa Plc [TPSE] led the gainers with ✅ 7.41% share price appreciation closing at KES 14.50 per share, followed by;

✅Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] (+6.93%),
✅Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (+5.18%)
✅Flame Tree Group Holdings [FTGH] (+4.35%).

On the losing side, Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?6.95% at KES 6.96 per share, followed by;

?Uchumi Supermarket Plc [UCHM](-5.88%),
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-4.08%)
?Housing Finance Company Plc [HFCK](-2.62%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 2.1 million traded shares, followed by;

➖KCB Bank Kenya Plc [KCB](2.05m),
➖Absa Bank Kenya Plc [ABSA] (1.91m)
➖Co-operative Bank of Kenya Plc [COOP] (943,200).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] ✅ gained 0.99 points to close at 130.58

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?1.20 points to close at 1758.08

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅ 22.55 points to close at 2990.66

The derivatives market of the NSE had 8 contracts valued at Kes 284,400 concluded in today’s trading session. This was higher as compared to the 7 contracts valued at Kes 190,500 concluded in previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a notable rise in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 4.01 Billion achieved in 73 deals in today’s session as compared to the Kes 1.95 Billion achieved in 96 deals during the previous trading session.
