At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 23,873,800 shares in 818 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 599,577,197.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, October 13), today’s data shows 88% improvement in volume, 97% improvement in turnover, but 13% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 40 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 19✅ gainers and 14🔻 losers.

Home Afrika Plc[HAFR] led the gainers with ✅7.69% share price appreciation closing at KES 0.42 per share, followed by:

✅ Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] (+6.9%)
✅Liberty Holdings Plc [LBTY] (+6.44%)
✅ East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+4.9%).

On the losing side, Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH]came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 🔻7.64% at KES 1.33 per share, followed by:

🔻 WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (-4.4%)
🔻 Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-2.78%)
🔻 Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (-2.6%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 12.3 million traded shares, followed by:

➖ KCB Group Plc [KCB] (4.26m)
➖ Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.28m).

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined🔻 7.10 points to close at 3218.34

There were 2 contracts valued at kes 60,100 concluded during today’s transaction on the derivatives market of the NSE. This was similar to the 2 contracts valued at kes 60,100 concluded during the previous trading session.

The bonds market posted a further  decline in turnover in today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 1.62 billion transacted in 45 deals against the 2.49 billion worth of bonds transacted in Tuesday’s trading session.
