Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Monday, December 14), today’s data shows 192% improvement in volume, 295% improvement in turnover, and 4% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.21 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 15 ✅gainers and 20 ?losers.

Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] led the gainers with ✅9.52% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.38 per share, followed by:

✅East African Portland Cement Company [PORT] (+7.14%)
✅Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (+5.98%)
✅Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc [KPLC] (+5.6%).

On the losing side, Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.79% closing at KES 32.70 per share, followed by:

?Liberty Kenya Holdings Plc [LBTY] (-9.33%)
?Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (-4.74%)
?Express Kenya Plc [XPRS] (-4.41%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 6.8 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kenya Power & Lighting Company [KPLC] (3.43m).

The derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange had 20 single stocks futures contracts valued at Kes 304,100 transacted. This was a drop in activity as compared to the 21 contracts value dat Kes 412,150 transacted in during the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange posted a moderate rise in activity during Monday’s session with bonds worth Kes 2.10 billion traded in 82 deals during today’s session as compared to the Kes 2.07Billion achieved in 61 deals during the previous trading session
