At the end of the first weekday of trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) this week.

A total of 42,661,400 shares in 1,057 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 888,267,401.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Friday, June 12), today’s data shows 11% decline in volume, 20% decline in turnover, and 9% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.17 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 14 ✅gainers and 13 ?losers.

Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] led the gainers with ✅9.57% share price appreciation closing at KES 10.65 per share, followed by:

✅Stanbic Holdings Plc [SBIC] (+8.44%)
✅Eveready East Africa Plc [EVRD] (+7.92%)
✅Centum Investment Company Plc [CTUM] (+5.49%).

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc [SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?8.77% closing at KES 20.80 per share, followed by:

?Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] (-8.2%)
?Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] (-7.69%)
?Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] (-4.69%).

Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] recorded the highest volume of 21.1 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Safaricom Plc [SCOM] (13.44m)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (1.7m)
➖KCB Group Plc [KCB] (1.5m).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] gained ✅ 0.37 points to close at 143.25

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅11.18 points to close at 2022.95

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained ✅14.25 points to close at 3300.18

There were no trades conducted on the Derivatives market of the NSE in today’s trading session.
