At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 2,887,600 shares in 417 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 87,522,418.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, October 14), today’s data shows 88% decline in volume, 85% decline in turnover, and 49% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 40 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 14✅ gainers and 15? losers.

Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc [FTGH] led the gainers with✅ 7.52% share price appreciation closing at KES 1.43 per share, followed by:

✅ HF Group Plc [HFCK] (+5.39%)
✅ Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (+4.76%)
✅Total Kenya Plc [TOTL] (+4.48%).

On the losing side, Uchumi Supermarkets Plc [UCHM] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of? 3.23% at KES 0.30 per share, followed by:

? CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (-2.95%)
? Umeme Limited [UMME] (-2.27%)
? Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-1.56%).

KCB Group Plc [KCB] recorded the highest volume of 1.5 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Kengen Plc [KEGN]. (327,800)
➖CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (210,500)
➖Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (113,200)

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined? 0.09 points to close at 139.65
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained✅ 0.91 points to close at 1814.17
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index gained✅ 2.20  points to close at 3220.54

There was 1 contracts valued at kes 30,000 concluded during today’s transaction on the derivatives market of the NSE. This was a decline compared  to the 2 contracts valued at kes 60,100 concluded during the previous trading session.

The bonds market posted an increase in turnover in today’s trading session, with bonds worth Kes 2.85 billion transacted in 48 deals against the 1.62 billion worth of bonds transacted in Wednesday’s trading session.
