At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)

A total of 123,648,800 shares in 1,074 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 3,763,782,044.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, September 16), today’s data shows 599% improvement in volume, 584% improvement in turnover, and 4% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.1 trillion.

In the aggregate, 45 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with✅ 18 gainers and? 18 losers.

Eaagads Plc[EGAD] led the gainers with ✅7.92% share price appreciation closing at KES 12.95 per share, followed by

✅ Crown Paints Plc[CRWN] (+6.9%)

✅Umeme Plc[UMME] (+5.76%)

✅ Home Afrika Plc[HAFR] (+5.26%).

On the losing side, Standard Group Plc[SGL] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.93% at KES 18.60 per share, followed by

?Nation Media Group Plc[NMG] (-8.96%)

?Sanlam Kenya Plc[SLAM] (-8.89%)

? Bamburi Cement[BAMB] (-3.47%).

Safaricom PlC[SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 115.8 million traded shares, followed by

➖Equity Group Holdings[EQTY] (2.79m)

➖Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation Ltd [KNRE](1.09m)

➖ East African Breweries[EABL] (808,600).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ?0.85 points to close at 139.80
➡️The NSE 20 Share Index declined ?21.64 points to close at 1844.60
➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ?28.21 points to close at 3219.95

The derivatives market of the NSE had 100 contracts valued at kes 2,866,325   concluded in today’s trading session, this was quite an increase as compared the 21 contract valued at Kes 565,850 transacted in the previous trading session.

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a slump in  activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 1.50 billion transacted in 52 deals in as compared to the Kes 2.66 billion achieved in 100 deals posted in Wednesday’s trading session
