At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), [20-05-2020]

A total of 9,710,200 shares in 828 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 265,320,656.00, were traded.

Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, May 19), today’s data shows 50% decline in volume, 55% decline in turnover, and 13% decline in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 2.12 trillion.

In the aggregate, 46 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 18✅ gainers and 20? losers.

Kenya Airways Plc [KQ] led the gainers with ✅9.66% share price appreciation closing at KES 2.61 per share, followed by;

✅Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (+8.16%)
✅Umeme Limited [UMME](+7.87%)
✅East African Cables Plc [CABL] (+6.78%)

On the losing side, Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.93% closing at KES 18.60 per share, followed by:

?STANLIB Fahari Income REIT [FAHR] (-5.97%)
?Nairobi Securities Exchange [NSE] (-2.86%)
?WPP ScanGroup Plc [SCAN] (-2.06%).

Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 3.7 million traded shares, followed by:

➖Bank of Kigali Group Plc [BKG] (2.63m)
➖CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (603,100)
➖East African Breweries Plc [EABL] (501,200).

➡️The benchmark NSE All Share Index [NASI] declined ? 0.74 points to close at 139.94

➡️The NSE 20 Share Index gained ✅ 1.66 points to close at 2009.15

➡️The NSE 25 Share Index declined ? 14.00 points to close at 3282.63

There were no contracts concluded on the derivatives market of the Nairobi Securities Exchange during today’s trading session.

Secondary trading on the bond market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange had a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.91 Billion trading in 77 deals, as compared to yesterday’s turnover of Kes 1.98 Billion which was achieved in 80 deals.
