Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Wednesday, August 19), today’s data shows 33% improvement in volume, 47% decline in turnover, but 11% improvement in deals.

The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.97 trillion.

In the aggregate, 42 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 18 ✅gainers and 18 ?losers.

Sameer Africa Plc [SMER] led the gainers with ✅9.85% share price appreciation closing at KES 3.57 per share, followed by:

✅KCB Group Plc [KCB] (+5.35%)
✅Britam Holdings Plc [BRIT] (+5.34%).

On the losing side, Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?9.09% closing at KES 0.60 per share, followed by:

?Bamburi Cement Plc [BAMB] (-7.6%)
?Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] (-6.87%)
?Home Afrika Plc [HAFR] (-6.52%).

Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation [KNRE] recorded the highest volume of 10.5 million traded shares, followed by:

The secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a moderate rise in activity during today’s session with bonds worth Kes 524.48 million transacted in 85 deals in as compared to the Kes 451.73 million achieved in 78 deals during the Wednesday’s trading session
