At the end of today’s trading session on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
A total of 38,782,100 shares in 1,113 deals, corresponding to a market value of KES 1,074,179,815.00, were traded.
Compared with the previous NSE trading day (Tuesday, July 21), today’s data shows 1% decline in volume, 6% improvement in turnover, but 20% decline in deals.
The current NSE market capitalization is KES 1.97 trillion.
In the aggregate, 47 NSE listed equities participated in trading, ending with 15 ✅gainers and 25 ?losers.
Longhorn Publishers Plc [LKL] led the gainers with ✅8.41% share price appreciation closing at KES 4.90 per share, followed by:
✅Sanlam Kenya Plc [SLAM] (+7.69%)
✅Standard Group Plc [SGL] (+6.9%)
✅CIC Insurance Group Plc [CIC] (+5.75%).
On the losing side, Olympia Capital Holdings [OCH] came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of ?10.00% closing at KES 2.25 per share, followed by:
?Nation Media Group Plc [NMG] (-4.05%)
?Equity Group Holdings Plc [EQTY] (-3.79%)
?Nairobi Business Ventures [NBV] (-3.33%).
Safaricom Plc [SCOM] recorded the highest volume of 21.4 million traded shares, followed by:

There were 10 single stock futures contracts valued at Kes 326,250 concluded in trading session on the derivatives market. This was lower as compared to the 27 contracts valued at Kes 673,100 concluded in the previous trading session.
The Secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in activity with bonds worth Kes 1.86 Billion transacted against the Kes 5.51 billion worth of bonds traded during Tuesday’s trading session. The number of deals however declined to 50 from yesterday’s 76 deals.
